A reliable caretaker / all-rounder (m/f/d) (40 hours per week) is sought in Hamburg-Winterhude. The role involves looking after three properties: primarily a private home belonging to a family with children, an exclusive block of flats, and an office or commercial unit with a workshop. This offers a varied and responsible role within a long-term working environment.

Your tasks:

We are looking for a friendly, thorough and independent individual with practical, all-round skills and a basic understanding of DIY, who enjoys looking after various properties attentively and reliably. Two days a week, your work will focus on a private household in a fully refurbished red-brick villa. On two other days a week, you will look after the block of flats, and on one day a week you will check that everything is in order at the commercial property. There is no gardening involved here.

During the summer months, you will mainly be working in outdoor areas. When it comes to lawn care in private households, you will be assisted by a robotic lawnmower. In addition, you’ll be responsible for day-to-day outdoor maintenance at the various properties, such as clearing leaves, sweeping paths and general upkeep of flowerbeds and patio areas in private homes. This also includes cleaning rubbish bins (at the private residence), the garage and the gate, although the garage is not, of course, cleaned every week.

The role is supplemented by simple DIY tasks and minor repairs, such as changing light bulbs, carrying out small painting jobs or putting up a shelf. In addition, the children’s playhouse in the garden needs to be looked after and cleaned. This also includes maintaining the hot tub, including checking the pH level.

During the winter months, a thorough winter maintenance service is particularly important. You also keep track of the maintenance schedules for the technical systems and take care of coordinating and supervising tradespeople.

In a block of flats, particular care should be taken to clean the stairwell thoroughly, including skirting boards, window sills and the lift. The stairwell windows also fall within your remit, but not the tenants’ flat windows.

As the previous incumbent has taken his well-deserved retirement, great importance is attached to a long-term working relationship. There is a very friendly atmosphere, and it would be lovely if you could also be receptive to tenants’ minor suggestions and requests.

Overall, it is not just a question of cleanliness and maintenance, but also of ensuring that all the areas under our care give a generally tidy, functional and well-organised impression.

A driving licence is required for this role. However, having your own car is not essential, as a vehicle can be arranged if necessary. Work and cleaning equipment is available at the work sites, and there is also a caretaker’s room available in the block of flats. Parking facilities are also provided. The start time can be from 8.00 am; otherwise, the exact working hours are flexible and can be agreed upon.
