In Hamburg-Othmarschen, we are looking for a qualified nurse (m/f/d) or a qualified geriatric care worker (m/f/d) is sought as a night nurse (10-hour shifts on a 7-day rotation) to provide night-time care for a friendly elderly gentleman. This kind-hearted and even-tempered elderly gentleman lives in a warm and lively multi-generational household in a listed historic villa, where a trusting and respectful atmosphere is of great importance.

Your tasks:

• Helping the elderly person with their evening bath and bedtime routine
• Promote structures that help improve the quality of sleep
• Care for the elderly whilst they are awake
• Administration of medication
• Written documentation and handover procedures
• Working as part of a team with another night nurse (m/f/d) and the coordinating nurse from the day shift

The focus of this role is on providing attentive, empathetic night-time care for an elderly gentleman who is active at night due to his dementia. We are looking for a reliable individual who will be on hand during the night, keeping him company when he suffers from insomnia, and who, with calmness and experience, will help him get back into bed and drift off to sleep peacefully. A confident and reassuring manner, patience and a caring approach are particularly important, especially in the evening and at night.

The family environment is warm and lively. The family is looking for a qualified carer who will take on the role with a strong sense of responsibility and be there for the elderly gentleman and his wife during the night.

The role involves 10-hour shifts on a 7-day cycle or a 7-day rotation rota with a second qualified care worker, working in collaboration with the coordinating nurse. This gives the role a clear and easily predictable structure. It is important that you already have experience in caring for older people, enjoy working as part of a team and take pleasure in providing reliable and reassuring support at night.
