In Sieseby, right on the idyllic Schlei, a qualified gardener (m/f/d) (40 hours per week) is sought to look after a beautiful estate. This beautifully situated weekend home, built in the traditional thatched-roof style, is surrounded by a lovingly landscaped, picturesque English garden – the owner’s labour of love. This place combines rural tranquillity with stylish elegance and is looking for someone who shares his enthusiasm for historic garden architecture and the beauty of nature.
Your tasks:
- Garden maintenance
- Maintenance of the garden
- Care and maintenance of an English landscape and ornamental garden
- Professional pruning of trees, shrubs and hedges (topiary, fruit trees, etc.)
- Lawn care, including mowing, fertilising, watering and reseeding
- Garden bed maintenance (perennials, bulbs, annuals)
- Maintenance of themed gardens (e.g. rose garden, shade garden)
- Monitoring and, where necessary, operating the automatic watering system
- Pest and disease control in accordance with organic principles
- Organisation and maintenance of tools and machinery
- Participation in the further development and design of the garden
- Coordination of service providers
- Supervision of craftsmen
- possibly carrying out minor repairs, where possible
The garden is regarded as the estate’s green oasis and is lovingly tended by the owner himself. He enjoys carrying out the seasonal planting work himself. This makes him all the more eager to welcome expert support, provided with great sensitivity, a wealth of knowledge and an eye for beauty. You have a keen eye for detail, possess excellent knowledge of all kinds of plants and appreciate classic, natural garden design in the English style. You are just as familiar with tending rose gardens, perennial beds and kitchen gardens as you are with working with automatic irrigation systems.
Particular emphasis is placed on environmentally conscious garden maintenance: sustainable pest control, well-planned crop rotations and careful soil management are all part and parcel of the role. Maintenance of the garden’s infrastructure, from the machinery shed to the upkeep of tools, also falls within your remit. Communication with the owner takes place on an equal footing – your opinion is valued and your ideas for the garden’s further development are warmly welcomed.
A staff flat on the premises makes this position particularly attractive. Your partner is also welcome to move in with you – a suitable position on the estate would also be possible.
We offer:
- Permanent position
- Very attractive remuneration
- High-quality furnished staff flat on site
- An exceptional working environment right on the Schlei
- Working within an ambitious and supportive business environment
