A competent, caring nanny (m/f/d) (30 hours per week) is sought in Hamburg-Othmarschen. This friendly, discerning family of three lives in a spacious, classic villa and is looking for a reliable nanny who can provide their little ray of sunshine (7 months) with a sense of security through calmness, warmth and structure, as well as loving support.

The focus of this role is on providing empathetic care for the young man. You will ensure a safe, age-appropriate daily routine, closely monitor his developmental stages and act as a stable point of reference in his everyday life. You will bring with you a good understanding of routines, sleep and mealtimes, as well as the ability to engage in loving activities that are appropriate for his age and provide the child with joy and a sense of security. Your place of work would currently be on Hamburg’s Außenalster; the family is expected to move to the suburbs along the Elbe from May 2027, at which point your place of work will also change. We are looking for someone to work 30 to 35 hours per week, although the current requirement is only for 3 days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm) for 5 hours a day. Every other Thursday, the family has an appointment, so your support will also be required on that day. Any remaining hours will be recorded in a time account and can be used as required, subject to prior agreement. At the moment, the little one still enjoys baby food, but in the long term the family would like you to take over the task of preparing child-friendly meals. You will prepare balanced meals tailored to the needs of an infant and their current stage of development. You will also provide support in other aspects of the family’s daily life wherever it is needed, whilst keeping a watchful eye on both the small and large-scale routines in the background. The family travels occasionally and would be delighted if you could accompany them on these trips when required. The family would also like childcare for 5 hours twice a month at the weekend. The hours from the time bank will be used for this, for example. Flexibility is therefore important, as is a calm, professional and friendly manner in a variety of situations. If necessary, and by arrangement, you may also be asked to look after the family dog (an American Shepherd) in a friendly manner. Here too, a confident and attentive approach is desirable.

We are looking for a reliable individual with a well-groomed appearance, who works competently, thinks ahead when dealing with the child and enjoys being part of a demanding household. However, a certain degree of pragmatism and a hands-on approach to tasks beyond childcare would also be helpful. A driving licence is required so that you can provide flexible support in day-to-day life. The family values discretion, respectful interaction and clear, appreciative communication. You should also be a team player, as there are other members of staff in the household.
