A caring yet proactive nanny / childminder (m/f/d) (20 hours per week) is sought in Hanover. Ideally, the family would like a native English-speaking carer who communicates consistently and naturally in English in everyday life, in order to help their daughter develop her language skills through play. As both parents work as doctors, reliable, responsible and committed support during the afternoons is particularly important.
Your tasks:
- Child care services
- Homework supervision
- Transport services
- Keep order
- Errands
The focus of your role is looking after the 8-year-old girl. You will usually collect her from the after-school club at the nearby primary school at 2.00 pm and organise a varied and active afternoon for her. Whether it’s travelling together to leisure activities, going for a walk, doing creative activities or simply taking time to settle in and have a chat – what matters to the family is attentive support that gives the child a sense of security whilst also instilling a love of physical activity and everyday experiences.
Another key element is homework support. Their daughter is in Year 3, so her schoolwork is manageable. With a calm, structured approach and a positive attitude towards learning, they help ensure that homework is completed reliably, without the afternoon losing its relaxed, child-friendly atmosphere.
As all journeys can easily be made on foot or by public transport, a driving licence is not required. Running small errands or doing daily chores can form part of your daily routine, subject to agreement. You will also help the child tidy their bedroom and support them in establishing routines that will benefit them in the long term.
Working hours are scheduled during the afternoon slot, twice a week from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm and three times a week from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm. You will be relieved by the parents and finish your working day.
We offer:
- Part-time employment
- Permanent position
- Very good remuneration
- 13th monthly salary
- Regulated working hours
- 30 days holiday
- An atmosphere of mutual respect
The family places great importance on respectful, friendly interaction and is looking for a carer who is committed to a long-term role. If you enjoy providing attentive support to a school-age child, use English as a natural part of your everyday life, and regard reliability as the very essence of professionalism, this role is perfect for you.
We also welcome applications from candidates with experience, for example as a nursery teacher (m/f/d) or a social education worker (m/f/d).
